It’s Christmas in July at Paint a Pot!
For some Christmas in July crafty fun, head into Paint a Pot this Tuesday afternoon, and get a jump on this year’s handmade Christmas décor.
There are lots of stories about the origin of Christmas in July. The concept dates back further than a century, and many countries have laid claim to the tradition.
In Australia, we see it as an opportunity to engage in some Christmas traditions during the winter chill, just as those in the Northern Hemisphere do. Australians also love any reason to celebrate together, and with the mid-year months lacking in commemorative or festive days, Christmas in July fits the bill.
So how are we celebrating Christmas in July at Paint a Pot? We’re pulling out the clay, and giving everyone the opportunity to create a Christmas tree, complete with decorations.
Make one for your own home, or as gifts for grandparents, aunts, uncles or teachers. Whoever it is for, they are sure to adore a unique gift, lovingly crafted by hand.
It’s also a great way to keep the kids occupied for the afternoon, and they can also have a run in our soft play centre. You can enjoy a warming cuppa and a relaxing time out while you wait for them to burn off all that pent up energy!
The workshop will run this Tuesday 10th July at 2pm. For $25 per person, children of all ages can make themselves a clay Christmas tree and enjoy a snack and drink. You can take your brilliant trees with you on the day, or leave them to be fired overnight and pick them up the following day.
Paint a Pot has the antidote to winter holiday boredom. Be sure to check out all our other activities and workshops on our website.
